I received this information from Lisa Pierce about local tornado damage. Please let people know there are many folks nearby in need.
Management Association today and received information about ways we can help
with victims of Saturday's tornado.
1) We are still doing debris cleanup. If you have anyone wishing to help
with this, they can email me at this address. This Saturday we will be
meeting at Trinity UMC in Opelika at 8:00 AM. Work gloves and good shoes are
a must. People can just let us know and we will get them plugged in. I know
the mission yard sale is going on during this time. We have two weeks of
Spring Break teams that people can plug into with us. Some will be going to
Salem now. Evidently there is still lots of debris and three families have
yet to get into their homes...so good chain saws and experience helpful.
2) The people in the Salem community need personal hygiene items. It would
be great if your group would do a drive for these items. Once collected,
you can take them to the East Alabama Food Bank. Just put a note on the
items and give to "Donna". Attached is a list of the needed supplies
