Today we started off at Ggaba church where we heard from a Scottish missionary for the sermon. We left there at the end of service and headed to Buloba. Service was already going so they paused the worship time for us to come in. Rusty brought the word and shared from Matthew 5- the passage about salt and light.
At the end of service four people came forward to accept Christ as their Savior. Several people came to give testimony through song and one woman came forward to share a short testimony. She shared that one of the gentlemen who came forward to accept Christ was new visitor to the church. She explained that the guy had been bothered by demons so some of his friends came to ask her to pray for him. She prayed for him then she told him that he needed to come to church. So he did and decided to accept Christ!
We spent the rainy afternoon in Buloba.
Originally we were going to go door to door after spending some time with the ladies who have been making crafts. Because of the rain we ended up staying inside and spending time with the ladies. They showed us the crafts they had been working on. Some have been making baskets, some beads for necklaces and bracelets and some bags. Plus there are other little things they have been working on. We are hoping we have room to bring them back for people to purchase. I am going to take pictures of the ladies with things that they have made tomorrow and will post them tomorrow night.
We had the Jesus Film tonight. While we were waiting to get the movie started the guys worked on getting the bus unstuck from the mud in the road. A lot of bricks and some shoving.
About 200-250 people came to see the movie. It is 9:45 and we are just now on the way back to
I am sure that there are stories to tell from the day but I can’t think of any to share right now. After we get back and debrief the day at dinner I will take notes for tomorrow. I did show Esther her video I made and posted a couple of weeks ago. She had tears in her eyes as Pastor Eva shared how she was so sick that everyone had given up on her. Pastor Eva did not give up on her- she saw life in her and refused to accept another death and more orphans. She shared how she cried and wept and interceded on behalf of Esther for her life. Eva also shared how Esther is always working so hard- making things, coordinating the work the ladies are doing, cleaning the church, the church compound and singing and laughing all the way! Good stuff.
Tomorrow it is another early morning back to Buloba to work on the church, door to door ministry and playing with the school children. We thank you for praying and reading the blog. Your prayers make this trip successful!
Great post, I am so enjoying your commentary and allowing me to look into their world through the eyes of a Christ-like soul. God bless you, we will be praying for His work through you and their impact on you as well. He is so BIG, isn't it wonderful.
